There Is No Bigger Troll Than an Ex Who Thinks You Deserve It

A judge introduced me to BIFF Responses® a few years ago, and it turns out to be an excellent troll slayer. BIFF stands for Brief, Informative, Friendly, and Firm.

People mistakenly believe they will look weak if they do not return anger for anger. In fact, you look stronger when you keep your cool.

When many trolls encounter BIFF responses, they go away out of boredom. Most of the others respond intelligently to avoid looking foolish.

However, BIFF takes a fair amount of humility.

First, you must carefully read the offensive comment to find the question that needs answered. Then you have to compose a response that is sincere and respectful.
